Miso Salad Dressing

Miso Salad Dressing

This is my new favorite dressing. I love it. It is slightly sweet, but not too sweet for David. I love the sweet since it makes me want to eat more salad! I followed the recipe exactly. I did not measure the honey however--it may have been a little less than 1 tsp. Also, I don't think this needs extra salt. I did add a little pepper though.

This is my first time using miso. I used the trader joes brand. I am interested in finding other uses.

French Vinaigrette

This seemed to work fine. I think I prefer 1 part vinegar to 2 parts oil though.

Cafe Rio Cilantro Ranch Dressing

Cafe Rio Cilantro Ranch Dressing

I ate this at a friends house and loved it. I made it recently myself with fat free mayo. I used 4 canned tomatillos. I left the seeds in the jalapeno, and put the entire half bunch of cilantro (including stems) into the blender. It turned out really good. Might be too spicy after it sits in the fridge.

Calories: 430 (entire recipe with ff mayo). Estimating 2.5 cups yield, 21.5 cal / 2 Tbsp.

Yogurt Salad Dressing Base

I met a woman during the Stake R.S. Conference lunch today who was telling me about a german boyfriend she'd had who taught her how to make a good base for salad dressing.

Yogurt
garlic
toasted lemon thyme
cardamom
salt & pepper

Puree those things, and then you can add more things to smaller portions to make more specific flavors.
You could add cilantro, lemon juice, or vinegar.
